Collection: Open That Bottle!

Most people who are passionate about wine have a special bottle. It sits on the top shelf of their cellar, or it’s tucked away in a closet. Maybe the bottle was bought on a memorable trip abroad. Or maybe it was a gift from a loved one. The bottle has memories attached and a story behind it. It’s the bottle you don’t drink because you’re saving it for some special occasion. The problem is the special occasion seems to never arrive.

Famed wine writers Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher, the wife-and-husband team who co‑wrote the Wall Street Journal’s “Tastings” wine column created Open that Bottle Night. It falls on the last Saturday of February and is celebrated in homes, restaurants, and wine clubs around the world.
